Tyran Brown stopped by the WorldArts Stage for an exclusive Periscope session!

Tyran Brown is an emerging Hip-Hop artist from Inglewood, California. Tyran attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas where he studied marketing. In 2010, Brown hit a pivoting point in his career by creating an anthem for the UNLV basketball team. “I’m A Rebel” rapidly became a local hit and at the demand of numerous listeners.

Throughout his career, the young entrepreneur has performed at renowned locations such as the Key Club in Hollywood and the Las Vegas Hilton Hotel and has had the opportunity to share the stage the stage with Too $hort, Kendrick Lamar, Eric Bellinger, Ty Dolla $ign, and Casey Veggies, amongst others. In addition, Brown received his first official writing credit for contributing to Wiz Khalifa’s song “Fall Asleep”.

In 2012, while participating at the ASCAP Expo, one of his songs was selected to be played for executives; among which was five-time Grammy Award-winning G.O.O.D. Music spoken word artist Malik Yusef, who would later be instrumental in Brown’s professional endeavors. His 2012 mixtape, #HardWork, was created with Yusef’s guidance and direct assistance. The first single “MEEE” featuring Malik Yusef is a genuine hit with a standout flow in which the duo projects great creative direction. Furthermore, in 2013, one of his breakthrough songs was placed in the movie Gutshot Straight starring George Eads and Steven Seagal.

In 2015, Tyran’s single “Goin Up” featuring Gene Noble made waves in the college scene, reaching No. 3 at College Hip-Hop Radio on both the Rapattacklives.com and Rapnetwork Record Breakers charts. “Goin Up” also made it to the Top 200 on the Digital Radio Airplay Chart and reached No. 27 on the National Digital Radio Independent Chart. His debut EP, Book of Tyran, was released in the summer of 2015 and has been receiving wide acclaim.

Tyran had the honor to perform at the 2015 Special Olympics World Games Festival held at the UCLA campus in Los Angeles. The nationally-regarded Music Industry Quarterly Magazine features Brown in the 2015 Fall edition for being a very promising emerging songwriter. He joined SAG-AFTRA and has begun to embark on his journey in the film industry. Tyran also graced the cover of Hype World Magazine’s 20th issue in 2016. Currently, he is in the studio collaborating with great talent and creating new music.
