Pop Artist/Actor Titus Makin has released the video for his new single Suicide! Makin will also celebrate the release of his latest track with a show on Thursday, February 8th at The Sayers Club in Hollywood. This Los Angeles-based performer gained acclaim with his role on FOX’s hit show Glee, and his tour engagements with Glee Live!. Having also starred in Pretty Little Liars, NCIS and the CW‘s Star-Crossed, he is currently appearing as Caleb Matthews, a musician on the third season of Hulu’s The Path. Directed by seventeen year-old filmmaker Jake Williams, the video portrays the agonizing addiction that humans have with love and affection and how “it’s feeling like you can’t get a grip of anything that’s happening in your life due to being consumed by a dangerous love” Makin reveals. “We wanted the viewer to feel like they’re spinning out of control, in confusion until you can stop, find grounding, and realize what’s happening”. Written with fellow songwriter and artist Aaron Kellim, the video’s saturated-color sequences and head-spinning shots aim to represent the toxic relationships that drain us of all the things we knew as familiar.
Hailing from Sierra Vista, AZ, Makin graduated from the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts before relocating to L.A to pursue acting and music. He has since written with and been produced by some of pop’s top producers like Kellim, Jake Scott, and David Hodges (Evanescence, Christina Perri, Kelly Clarkson) with his sound best described as mainstream pop with soul undertones. His first two singles, Ropes and Good Love, were featured in numerous outlets like AXS and The Huffington Post, with both tracks landing spots on global Spotify and Deezer playlists. Ropes was featured on his EP Love Addict, with Good Love and Suicide being the singles off his upcoming EP Lean, set to be released later this year.
