Snakehips Brought All Their Friends To The Wiltern [Review]

Last night we caught Snakehips for a special show at the Wiltern for another night of Red Bull Sound Select’s 30 days in LA. The British electronic duo, Oliver Lee and James Carter, is currently wrapping up their North American tour run and played a very special show last night with special guests Sinead Harnett, Raury, Anderson Paak, Big Baby D.R.A.M. and Malika!

The electronic duo built a name for themselves over the past few years creating a buzz on Hype Machine with their R&B-tinged indie electronic remixes of artists like the Weeknd and Banks. The duo also supported Major Lazer on their European tour while working on their own music. In 2015, the duo’s single “All My Friends” featuring Tinashe and Chance the Rapper broke Snakehips into the mainstream after primarily gaining recognition through the internet and playing music festivals around the world.

Today it’s evident Snakehips has defined their sound perfectly mashing up indie electronic, hip-hop and R&B. Snakehips is currently working on their upcoming full-length album featuring their latest collaboration with One Direction star turned solo artist, Zayn, “Cruel.”

Now the duo will embark on their Asia leg of their 2016 tour, and will hopefully have their debut album releasing sometime next year. Stay tuned for more 30 days of LA coverage when we see YG & Nick Murphy to close out the month!
