Friday, November 4, we headed to The Wiltern to catch Red Bull Sound Select’s Bob Moses show. For the past two years Red Bull Sound Select 30 days in LA has been taking over November to bringing intimate shows to music fans. Now the 30 day long concert series features notable headliners mixed with emerging Red Bull Sound Select artists providing a collaborative environment for everyone involved.
The Canadian electronic live act from Vancouver consists of Tommy Howie and Jimmy Vallance who have been friends since high school. They both liked similar music, but didn’t start making experimental alternative electronic music until after college.
Last night we made a trip to The Wiltern in Korea Town of Los Angeles to catch Bob Moses’ mesmerizing live performance. Bob Moses perfectly fuses alternative rock and electronic dance music with each single having well written lyrics in combination with a groovy beat. I have to say, there is something special about seeing Bob Moses at night time in an intimate setting, instead of seeing them at the day time during a festival. There’s something nice about having a well thought out light show in tandem with a live performance to heighten all the emotions coming from the music.
They released their debut album, Days Gone By, September 2015, and have been gaining recognition for their live shows with appearances at festivals like TommorwWorld, Ultra Music Festival, Coachella, Governor’s Ball NYC, Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo. Last August, they released the extended version of the studio album, Days Gone By.
Today, we’re looking forward to 30 days in LA continuing at Stones Throw Fest at Sycamore Grove Park featuring Common and many more hip-hop artists. Stay tuned for more from 30 days of LA this month!
