Porter Robinson and Madeon played their first stop of their West Coast leg of their tour on Wednesday, November 23, at Bill Graham Auditorium in San Francisco, CA, with support by Han Solo and Robotaki. The Shelter Live Tour is a special show consisting of Porter Robinson and Madeon play simultaneously on stage together paying tribute to their debut albums Worlds and Adventure, respectively, and bodies of work as musicians. A tour fulfilling the dreams of many music superfans.
Over the years Porter and Madeon have been friends since they were both budding music producers and have been influential in each others’ musical development. If you’ve ever been to a Porter Robinson or a Madeon show since they’ve released and toured for their debut albums, you know both artists take you on an emotional journey. During their tour the duo plays exclusive shelter live edits which is a seamless mash-up of each others’ music. For example Porter Robinson plays his own rendition of his favorite Madeon song, “Beings,” where Robinson sings the song live while Madeon is playing keys. Personally, I am huge Porter Robinson and Madeon fan, so hearing these mash ups and exclusive live renditions tickles my heart strings.
The duo amped up their stage production for the west coast leg of the tour with pyrotechnics and fireworks, giving the audience complete heart eyes during each and every emotional drops.
Today, they will be playing the Microsoft Theater kicking off their first of three shows in Los Angeles. Tickets for their Monday show at the Shrine are still available for purchase here.
