Over the weekend we headed out to Sycamore Grove Park in Highland Park for Stones Throw Fest in honor of Peanut Butter Wolf’s Stones Throw Records 20th anniversary for Day 5 of 30 Days in LA. The first attendees at the festival received custom blankets to enjoy themselves on at the park for the all day family festival, as Red Bull always rewards early arrivers for supporting their shows.
The festival brought Highland Park alive with food truck and attracting many people from the area to the free event. Fans enjoyed performances by Common, Stones Throw founder Peanut Butter Wolf, J. Rocc, Dam-Funk, Mild High Club and many more.
There’s something more sentimental about an outdoor performance open to the public, bringing out music fans, people from the community and artists together in one space to enjoy the fall weather in Los Angeles. Common recently released his latest studio album, Black America Again, that focuses on racial injustice issues that American has been facing recently. His timely release with the election day coming up is also a reminder to his fans to get out there and make their voices heard. Check out his video for Black American Again featuring Stevie Wonder below:
Stay tuned for coverage on 30 days in LA when we head to Lido’s show at the Ace Hotel Theater!
