Nashville natives Kings of Leon are the founders and producers of the Music City Food and Wine Festival, set for September 20-21 in the Grammy-winning rockers’ hometown. Day Two of the event will include Harvest Night, an evening of live music by a long roster of country and rock talent. Set to perform at downtown Nashville’s Walk of Fame Park are Lady Antebellum’s Charles Kelley, Hunter Hayes, Jamey Johnson, Michael McDonald, Ashley Monroe, Phosphorescent, Brendan Benson, Jessie Baylin, Billy Joe Shaver, Bobby Bare Sr., Bobby Bare Jr., Clare Bowen, the McCrary Sisters, Moon Taxi, the Watson Twins and, of course, Kings of Leon. All will perform with the same backing band, the Long Players, and all set-lists will include songs representative of Nashville.

“Harvest Night is going to be a fun night of food, music, drinks and more drinks,” says Kings’ drummer Nathan Followill. “Expect a surprise or two, and come hungry and thirsty!”

Now in its second year, the event will also include cooking demonstrations and cuisine by a who’s-who list from the culinary world, including country singing-chef Trisha Yearwood, her fellow Food Network star Tyler Florence, Bizarre Foods host Andrew Zimmern, and festival co-founder Jonathan Waxman, who owns Nashville restaurant, Adele’s and New York’s Barbuto.

“You can have a fried bologna sandwich at 1 in the morning and watch great country bands — it’s magical,” Waxman tells the Tennessean.
