Singer/songwriter Resin has released her live video Hoarse off her new album Fidget! This L.A.-based artist combines industrial beats with ambient cinematic soundscapes and grungy vocals along with help from bandmate, Niko Antonucci. She describes Hoarse as a “song about how your mental state affects you” and says “the idea for the song came to me after I attended a rave festival and was feeling a lot of pressure to enjoy myself. The song is a reflection of me feeling guilty for battling anxiety while everyone around me was just having fun. The intimate ambience of the venue was the perfect backdrop, and the filmmaker, Matt Hardy, was able to capture the rawness of the track with a gritty style of shooting and utilizing a deep red-light source.”
Born and raised in Prague, Resin brings a dark, sexy electronic sound backed by grungy, affecting vocals. Fidget represents the evolution of her songwriting and producing talents, with influences from Nirvana, PJ Harvey, NIN, Portishead, Gesaffelstein, and classical music. Resin got her musical start as a child, playing the piano and her father’s guitar. After cutting her first demo and singing in different bands as a teen, she realized early on that she would have to go the DIY route to get the sound she wanted. Now a seasoned artist, she produced and wrote each track on Fidget, combining sophisticated melodies set against dark yet catchy electronic beats that display a powerful sound that’s truly all her own.
