New York-based singer/producer TRISTN has released her newest single Anywhere But Here! Produced by Steve Kupillas (Oak and Ash, Brand New), the new track is from her upcoming EP January, which drops on September 8th! Her latest EP contains an A-List team of producers including the late Tom Coyne (Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Adele) on Now You Know, Ted Jensen (Norah Jones, Muse, Green Day), Kupillas, and Nick Carbone (drummer for Interscope / BadBoy artist French Montana) on Nothing to Say (Nothin’), and Kupillas and Christian Wright (Abbey Road Studios UK) lending their prowess to the remainder of the tracks. In addition to writing and performing, TRISTN also co-produced the album which tells the story of her own real-life experiences.
This alt-pop artist has also released the video for Sky Wide Open off the new EP, which she directed. TRISTN says the new video is a visual expression of the silver-lining concept of January. “Sometimes I feel like the world is always closing in on me. Sky Wide Open was written as a reminder for all of us. We have darker days, of course, but we also have days we make great memories” she explains. “When the sky opens wide, I hope we keep our eyes wide open. I’ve traveled all over the world, and one day, I decided it was time for me to see the magic of the sky in Iceland. I couldn’t fight it. I had to embrace what the world has to offer. It was so beautiful that I had to go back and capture the essence of this song. I’m glad I did.” Sky Wide Open puts TRISTN’s optimistic personality on full display, while another single off the EP, Nothing to Say (Nothin’), is a witty take on gossipers and their fear of talking to someone face-to-face.
